Description:
The project has been delivered by Carl Jaycock on behalf of Telford & Wrekin Council, and builds on the previous Sporting Champions project.
Carl is a local multi-media visionary artist with works of art in many international public and private collections.
He has worked with young people from the Pupils Referral Unit at New College in Wellington to take new digital photographic images and manipulate them with archived photographs of past champions to create new pieces of digital photography
The aim was to develop photographic and digital skills of young people and capture sporting moments and sport in action.
Researching at GKN Sankey, which provided the training facilities for many former local champions at modern training facilities at AFC Telford United and Donnington Social Club, there have been opportunities for swapping stories across the generations and between sports and non-sports people.
